Synopsis: Shaken by the unexpected death of Prince Alaaddin, Murad Han withdraws to Bursa. His son, Prince Mehmed, takes his place. Though viewed as inexperienced by European states, Mehmed is more capable than perceived. Upon becoming Sultan, Mehmed faces his first major challenge against Orhan, sheltered and supported by Byzantium. Orhan underestimates Mehmed’s youth and strives to defeat him, while Mehmed fights to prove his rightful claim to the throne.
Sultan Mehmed harbors a dream: to conquer Constantinople. He gathers his viziers to achieve this goal, but those around him fail to grasp his intent. Led by Çandarlı, a group tries to dissuade Mehmed, believing Constantinople’s capture is too daunting. Yet Mehmed is resolute and different from the rest. He orders preparations to begin.
Çandarlı incites the Janissaries to rebellion, causing chaos in the capital. Mehmed must gather his army to confront the rebels. Mehmed’s forces clash with the rebellious Janissaries. Determined to quell the uprising, Mehmed faces opposition, but Çandarlı’s final move forces him to yield to his father. Çandarlı wins the struggle as Mehmed loses and is sent into exile.
However, Mehmed’s story is far from over. He will one day return as Sultan.
