The inaugural Turkish web series for Disney+, titled “Escape”, was created by O3 Medya and Same Film, and features a plot authored by Engin Akyürek. Yağız Alp Akaydın directed the series, and Ali Doğançay wrote the screenplay. Starring Engin Akyürek and İrem Helvacıoğlu as the primary cast members, “Escape” first aired on June 14, 2022.
The plot of the story revolves around Mehmet, a war photographer, and a group of journalists from different nations who were taken hostage by ISIS in Syria while conducting research in an Ezidi village. In the series, the group illegally crossed the border and, apart from the protagonist, were captured by the extremist terrorist group following a raid. The story then follows their various struggles, transformations, and escape attempts, all with an exciting and captivating storyline.
