Gençliğim Eyvah: Fathers, Sons, and the Chaos of the Past

Gençliğim Eyvah (“Oh My Youth”) premiered in 2020 on ATV, blending family drama with comedy and heartfelt moments. Set in a colorful Istanbul neighborhood, the series revolves around two feuding men whose quiet lives are turned upside down when their pasts return—literally—in the form of long-lost children.

Arif and Zekeriya are two rival kebab shop owners with a long-standing grudge. Their daily bickering is turned on its head when two young men, Ahmet and Zola, suddenly appear, each claiming one of them is their father. With misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and unresolved past relationships coming to the surface, both men are forced to face their youthful mistakes while trying to build bonds with the sons they never knew.

• Arif Asmalı – Played by Cengiz Bozkurt, Arif is loud, stubborn, and proud, but deep down he has a soft heart. Cengiz brings sharp comedic timing and warmth to the role.
