EGO (Erkeğe Güven Olmaz, translating to “Men Can’t Be Trusted”) is a Turkish drama series that aired on FOX from 5 February to 21 May 2023. Produced by Pastel Film and directed by Doğa Can Anafarta, the series stars Alperen Duymaz and Melisa Aslı Pamuk in the lead roles. The screenplay was crafted by a team including Gülsev Karagöz, Ahmet Orçun Okşar, Zafer Özer Çetinel, Görkem Tüzün, Okan Başar Bahar, Erkan Birgören, and Elif Tuna Kıygı. EGO is an adaptation of the 2014 South Korean series Temptation.

Plot Overview

The series follows Erhan (Alperen Duymaz) and Elif (Rüya Helin Demirbulut), an engaged couple deeply in love, whose dreams of a happy future are shattered when Erhan falls victim to a financial scam, leaving him with an insurmountable debt. In a desperate bid to resolve the crisis, Erhan’s boss, Sibel (Melisa Aslı Pamuk), offers a controversial proposition that could alleviate his financial woes but at the cost of his relationship and personal integrity. This moral quandary sets the stage for a gripping narrative exploring themes of trust, sacrifice, and the complexities of human relationships.
